WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee (SVAC), questioned U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs nominee Doug Collins at his nomination hearing. Slotkin is a former CIA officer who was deployed three times in Iraq alongside active-duty military and served presidents of both parties in national security roles at the White House and Pentagon. Slotkin’s questions focused on Gov. Noem’s responsibility, if confirmed, to address the significant threat of domestic terrorism threats; the need for reform of the nation’s broken immigration system; Gov.
